Direct Cremation - What is it?

A Direct Cremation is becoming an increasingly popular option for a funeral service for many families, this can be a more affordable option when compared to a Traditional funeral, but also because many people plan this service prior to their death as they feel it will cause ‘less fuss’.

Typically this service takes place at a crematorium at a time to suit the funeral directors, with no family, friends or vicar present.

There is a coffin but no flowers, order of service or personal touches associated with a Traditional service.

For some families, this is exactly what they want for their loved one, or requested by the deceased prior to their death, and with the knowledge that we will conduct this funeral in the same caring, compassionate, dignified manner we share with all our families and funerals.

How much does a Direct Cremation cost?

Our Direct Cremation costs £1,595.00

This fee includes:

• Our choice of coffin for the deceased.
• Cremation fees for a local crematorium.
• Associated Doctor’s fees to enable the cremation to take place.
• Funeral arrangements made at Longhayes, EX6 6PG or over the telephone.
• Collection of the deceased within a 25 mile radius (other distances may incur a charge, as may an overnight call out fee).
• Provide staff and vehicle for the transfer of the coffin to the crematorium.
• Collection of ashes and return to Longhayes.
